"Midnight Moth & Marigold" — acrylic and paper on canvas. A velvet-black moth, wings folded, in charcoal and indigo washes. Bright marigolds in sunny yellows and saffrons, painted with loose, lively strokes. Translucent watercolor glows and thicker acrylic shadows, with impasto on petal edges. White paint flecks like tiny fireflies. Cool nocturnal blues on the moth; warm marigolds draw the eye. Mood: curious, tender, quietly whimsical.
